Privacy Policy

01Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

Information you give us

When you request a rate, contact us, or onboard as a client or agent partner, you may provide your name, company, email, phone number, shipment details (origin, destination, commodity, value, weight, container or cargo data), customs and importer-of-record information, and any documents you send us to perform our services.

Information we generate in providing services

As a licensed NVOCC and customs broker, we create and hold records tied to your shipments and entries — bills of lading, customs entries, classifications, filings, invoices, and correspondence — as part of delivering and documenting the work.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, our hosting and analytics tools may record standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring site. See Cookies & analytics.

02How we use it

We use the information to:

We do not sell your personal information.

03When we share it

We share information only as needed to do the job or as required by law, including with:

For overseas agent partners, our handling-agent relationships are governed by a written mutual non-solicitation agreement; we do not use your consignee or client contacts to solicit your customers.

04Cookies & analytics

The website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features. If we add third-party analytics, we will identify them here and honor applicable opt-out signals.

05The duty & landed-cost estimator

Our duty estimator sends the product description, country of origin, and customs value you enter to an AI service to generate an estimated classification and landed cost. Enter only the information needed for the estimate; do not include confidential business data you would not want processed for that purpose. Estimates are directional and are not a customs ruling — see the notice shown with the tool.

06How long we keep it

We retain customs and shipping records for the periods required by US law and prudent industry practice (customs brokers are generally required to keep entry records for five years from the date of entry), and we keep other information only as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. [Confirm specific retention periods with counsel.]

07Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

08Your choices & rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to our legal recordkeeping obligations (we generally cannot delete customs records we are required to retain). Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. To make a request, contact us using the details below. [Have counsel confirm which state and international regimes apply to your client base.]

09International users

Gravitas is based in the United States and serves clients and overseas forwarders worldwide. If you are outside the US, understand that your information will be processed in the US under US law to deliver the services you request.

10Changes & contact

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Questions or requests about this policy or your information:
